The mission of the association shall be: 

• to contract with any medical scheme, or other organization that provides health care to its members, for the provision of medical, services to members of such a medical scheme or organization by members of the association;
  
  
  
• to advance the interests of anesthesiologists in the community amid amongst peers; 
  
  
• to complement the aims of the South African Society of Anesthesiologists and the Medical Association of South Africa.
